OK, so, in the last post, we WERE considering "...it...", but now we're going to consider... "TIH!"...

Again, at the end of my post on "r", or "rah", I say, "So there we have it...", and now, here we have... "tih"!

g & 8 & 2, which equals decimal "twenty-six". If ye would like, try looking up "d". It is simply "t" moved over to the right, one digit. So, the pinky goes up, the middle finger gets "tucked in and rolled in", the index finger goes up, and the thumb comes in, and you have "d" (or decimal thirteen)...

... which is half of "t" (or, again, decimal twenty six)!

So, now we "let go" of our thumb, index finger, and middle finger, still hold down the little finger, and pull in the ring finger, and we have... (ready to do the lion immitation?...) "rah!", which is represented by the letter "r". And it is worth g&8, which, again equals, (let's say it a little louder now, just for fun!) "RAH!" (again, i.e., "r").

Of course, in decimal, that would be sixteen plus eight, which equals twenty four.

Hey! Here is an exercise that ye may find interesting (and "ye" is the subjective form of the objective "you" - not usually used these days, but used by me): Look back at the hand representation for "three" or "3". Notice that, for that number, the thumb and index finger are pulled in. Then, look at "six" or "6". Notice that, for that number, it is the same as 3, except that the thumb is up, and the middle finger is pulled in. In other words, we simply "move '3' over" by one digit. Then, look at "twelve" or "c". Again, it is the same as 6, except that the index finger is down, and the the ringer finger is in. So, again, from 6 to c, "6" got moved one digit to the left. And, finally, again, consider "r" or "twenty four", which I have just presented. It is "c", except that the middle finger is down, and the little finger is in. Here they are, all together:

So, there we have it (I am about to crack a jolly pun here, so do be warned, I pray you...) the "rah" goods!

Note: I could have drawn the "ring finger" sticking up, but actually it is just as comfortable to rest it on my palm as drawn - and it "doesn't count" because it is not "tucked in" like the other fingers. I suppose I could say I am "speaking a little French" or, "je parles en peut de Francais" on this one. I believe "qua" means "what" in French.

So, in my modified stroke notation, that would be:

P.S. So then, I suppose the expression: "qua et qua" ("et" being French for "and"), would translate into decimal 23 plus 23, which would equal 46... (in duoTRIgesimal, or Base thirty two, that would be "q&q='1e' dtg" (dtg is a "marker" that denotes the base as, again, duotrigesimal)).

With that in mind, hooray for Emma! By the way, "m" equals "g"&"4", which is the same as decimal "20=16+4".

Same as `hih`, except you release your thumb and pull in your index finger. It is just like going from ``one`` to ``two``, except in this case, it is all with your little finger pulled in - so you have `gee` (or sixteen) plus one and two respectively, which gives us hih and jih (or seventeen and eighteen, respectively).

It looks like "h", but is not pronounced "aych". It is pronounced "hih". As in "hit", minus the "t" sound.

Simply pull in the little ("pinky") finger and let all the other digits go! (And feel free to use the palm of your hand to hold that little finger down! I certainly do!) Of course, "g" is the base thirty two equivalent of decimal "sixteen". (I pronounce it with a hard "g" sound, so that it sounds like the French name spelled: "Guy" - as opposed to: "jee"). Well, folks, here is another entry: "e". Why that? Because I can only wait so long before I introduce: "Duotrigesimal", also know as "Base Thirty-Two". Here's how it works: 0-9 are the same as decimal (i.e. Base Ten), and "a" through "z", omitting "Ii", "Ll", "Oo", and "Uu" are the respective equivalents of decimal "10" through "31". Then, duotrigesimal "10" equals decimal "32". Clear as mud? If so, please feel free to say so, and I will seek to spell it out in a little more detail.

Hooray for Marqueta! (Twelve, Part II)

Hello! I just realized something! The little and index fingers pointed out, along with the thumb, do not necessarily have a sinister, occultic meaning. As a matter of fact, in sign language, they mean something that actually applies to one of my favorite people: Marqueta Jones Graham! Who is she? A married mother of seven (including Victoria, who is with Jesus right now), who lives in the states. She has a blog called "Sweete Felicity", where I have spent many a fond moment (if not hour) perusing her many amazing pictures, stories, poems, and songs. She is like an older sister to me, as far as I am concerned, and has shown me about as much kindness as anyone I know. So, here is "Twelve revisited", and it is all dedicated to dear sister Marqueta!

Here is twelve! I have drawn the little and index fingers curled halfway back, lest anyone mistaken the gesture to respresent anything occultic. Note: "Twelve" is simple "Six" moved to the left one digit, and "Three" moved to the left two digits. In other words, in the case of three, six, and twelve, two adjacent (i.e. "side-by-side") digits are completely pulled in.

By the way, in order to avoid any misunderstandings from a middle finger being extended, I have learned to, instead of extending it, rest it over top of my thumb muscle. That way, it is still "out", whereas my index finger and ring finger (representing "two" and "eight" respectively) are neatly "tucked in" underneath my thumb muscle. I have also begun employing a colour scheme that I plan to slowly incorporate into the previous pictures.

"Getting the Word Out"

I decided I would "hearken unto counsel" and keep getting the word out on Binary Finger Counting. What is it? It is, simply, doing more with less. The majority of us have five digits on each hand. What we do with them, however, in terms of counting is actually pretty simplistic. Basically, each digit is a assigned a value of "1", and then added together. So, for example, one extended finger (usually our index) respresents "One". Two extended fingers (such as our index and middle fingers) is considered to represent "Two", and etc. until all five digits are extended, which we typically consider to mean "Five".

This is, however, only scratching the surface of the potential we have. Let us start with our five digits all extended and, as a matter of fact, assume that to be "Zero" (!)
